Investigating Intelligence Across Four Critical Scales
Our research is structured around a unifying theme: understanding and synthesizing intelligence at every level—from the substrate to the collective.
Material Intelligence
Scale 1: The Substrate
We are pursuing the creation of material intelligence by designing novel physical matter from bottom up that can learn, remember, and self-organize.

Biological Intelligence
Scale 2: The Organism
The immune system is a masterful example of decentralized intelligence. Our mission is to move from reactive to proactive intervention by designing synthetic biological signals, such as personalized mRNA vaccine candidates, to tune this adaptive network for optimal resilience.

Ecological Intelligence
Scale 3: The Ecosystem
This mission applies our AI to synthesize disparate environmental data into a single, cohesive ecological model. We perform forensic evaluations of ecosystems like bacterial communities in seafloor sediments or agriculture soil to understand their network logic, predict tipping points, and inform strategies for what we call Bioregional Modelling.

Collective Intelligence
Scale 4: The Swarm
Beyond analyzing other systems, our framework enhances human collaboration. Platforms like Vin-Q demonstrate our method of using AI to coordinate actions of decentralized networks of people, turning their individual actions and expertise into a coherent, problem-solving collective.
